1. The Kits 1.1. What material(s) are your kits made from? Are they laser cut/resin cast/3d printed?
If not stated otherwise, all of our kits are laser cut from 3mm High Density Fibreboard (similar to MDF, but much more durable) with some detailing parts made from heavy duty cardboard (1mm greyboard or 1,5mm matte board in case of some of the Dark City models).
The stencils (except the VD94 Road Marking Stencils set) are made of artist-grade Mylar film.
1.2. Do the models come painted and/or assembled?
No, all of the kits come unassembled and unpainted.
2. Assembly and Painting 2.1. Where do I find the assembly instructions for the kit I've bought?
To find the assembly instructions, go into the relevant product page (i.e. if you're looking for instructions for DC11 Dumpsters, you have to go into the product page for this particular kit). Below the product gallery there will be a tab called 'Download' - click this tab and then either right-click and "Save as..." on the "Instructions" link or left click to open it in your browser.
2.2. I cannot open the file with assembly instructions.
The instructions are in PDF format - make sure you have a PDF reader software like Adobe Acrobat Reader installed on your machine. If clicking on the instructions link brings up a white page, try downloading the file with right-click and "Save as..." and then opening it from the download location.
2.3. What glue should I use for assembly?
We recommend PVA ("white glue") for assembling all of our models. If you want a stronger bond and/or a faster drying time, you may want to try adding a bit of superglue into the PVA once it's on the model - it will greatly speed up the bonding process, turning PVA goo-ish paste.
2.4. Is there any additional preparation needed before I start painting?
For best results, we strongly recommend that you prime the model(s) with a can primer - any brand of miniature primer will do, for cheaper solutions you may want to try out automotive primers or artist's acrylic rattle cans from brands like Liquitex (the latter being the one we use all the time in the studio).
2.5. What paints should I use for your kits?
We recommend using miniature or artist's acrylics - whether you apply them with a brush, airbrush or rattle can is entirely up to you.
3. Shipping 3.1. How much does it cost to ship the item X to my country?
The shipping fees depend on the weight and size of the items, and are listed on the shipping page HERE. If you want to get a shipping estimate for a particular item or a set of items, just add them to your basket and the shipping fee will be automatically calculated before setup.
3.2. I'm living outside the European Union and the tracking on my order hasn't updated for a couple of days after leaving Poland. Should I be worried?
No, it's entirely normal. The tracking updates happen as soon as the parcel is processed at a sorting facility - in the case of overseas orders it won't become trackable again until it is scanned again in the country of destination. In some of the countries this happens only after the item clears Customs.
3.3. I've ordered from you five working days ago and my item hasn't shipped yet. What's going on?
As almost all of the items are cut on demand, the shipping of your items may be delayed in two instances: a) if the studio is closed for vacation during Christmas or for about 5 days during the Summer b) if you've ordered your items during a sale (e.g. on Black Friday or during the anniversary sale in April); the information about the order processing times can be found in the announcements relevant to a particular closure or sale. If you need a more precise estimate of the processing time for your order, please feel free to contact us via the contact form HERE and we'll get back to you as soon as we can.
